Adult Auditions

Berkeley Playhouse is currently taking submissions for the following roles for the summer production of Fiddler on the Roof:

Tevye (45-55yo), Lazar Wolf, Fyedka, and Grandma Tzeitel.
We are also casting the Ensemble Roles of The Constable, The Rabbi, Mordcha the Inkeeper, Avram the Bookseller, Nachum the Beggar, Yussel the Hatter, Shaindel (Motel’s Mother), and Men & Women of Anatevka. Also seeing STRONG MALE DANCE ENSEMBLE.

The production will be Directed by Jon Tracy, with Musical Direction by Rachel Robinson and Choreography by Matthew McCoy.

Rehearsals are 5/25/15-6/26/15, performances are 6/27/15-8/2/15. AEA and NON-AEA contracts available. All roles are paid, with healthy stipends available for non-union actors. Auditions are currently scheduled for late January.

Berkeley Playhouse is pleased to announce General Auditions for it’s 2015-2016 MainStage Season. Auditions slots are still available on Tuesday February 24th between 9:30pm and 9:50pm and Wednesday February 25th between 6;30pm-10:00pm

If you have auditioned for Berkeley Playhouse in the last 6 months or will attend the TBA Generals in February of 2015, we have your information on file so there is no need to attend these auditions. 

To schedule an audition please email a digital photo (jpg format) and resume (pdf or doc format) to casting@berkeleyplayhouse.org, and a general time frame of when you are available, and casting will respond with a specific time slot for you to come in. 

Please prepare 1 song from a published musical, and 1 monologue from a published play for a total of 3 minutes. Bring sheet music in your key, an accompanist will be provided. 

Berkeley Playhouse hires both AEA and Non-Union actors, and operates under a Guest Artist Tier 2 agreement with Actor’s Equity Association. No AEA monitor will be present at these auditions.

Your photo should be in jpg format, and your resume should be in pdf or doc format. Your email will be considered as your cover letter, so no need to attach a separate letter.

If you are interested in a specific production/role please let us know by electronically submitting your photo, resume, and a letter of interest. Please specify the show and role you are interested in. 

Non-local actors who are unable to attend our General Auditions or Theatre Bay Area Auditions
are encouraged to submit a video audition for consideration. Please prepare 2 contrasting songs
from published musicals with accompaniment (either live or recorded). Please submit your
video link to casting@berkeleyplayhouse.org
