Come From Away is a musical based on the true story of when the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, became a haven for diverted plane passengers on September 11, 2001. What started as an average day in the isolated town turned into a life-changing event when planes carrying thousands of people from all over the world were told to land in Gander amidst the chaos and confusion of the 9/11 attacks. The residents of Gander – referred to as “islanders” – welcomed the stranded travelers – called “come from aways” – with shelter, music, an open bar, and acknowledgment of being one big global family. Throughout the days, residents and strangers alike become friends, sharing stories of similarities and differences, and finding appreciation for both. Connections are made for life, and Gander is put on the map for being instrumental in aiding the world in a historic time of turmoil.

Based on the remarkable true story, Come From Away features a folk-rock score with Celtic influences, a story both entertaining and inspiring, and charming characters based on real people. This Tony Award-winning musical explores the bonds that are made in times of crisis, weaves in moments of laughter and joy that can ease pain, and ultimately reminds us all of the resilience of humanity.

Hadestown Teen Edition tells a version of two intertwined love stories from Greek mythology – young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and immortal Hades and wife Persephone. Set in a Depression-era world, poverty-stricken Eurydice and Orpheus struggle to make ends meet, but Orpheus promises he is working on a song that will bring them hope again. Meanwhile, Persephone is enjoying her summer in the world above when Hades comes to collect her for the return back to Hadestown, Hades’ underground factory. As Eurydice becomes more desperate for a better life, she is intrigued by the promises of working in Hadestown and makes a deal with Hades to reside there. When Orpheus learns of this deal, he journeys to the underworld to save Eurydice and empower the workers to escape the clutches of power-hungry Hades.

This Tony Award-winning folk opera invites audiences on a hell-raising adventure to the underworld and back. With a soundtrack inspired by New Orleans jazz and American folk music, and featuring a modern spin on classic Greek mythology tales, Hadestown Teen Edition is a captivating sung-through musical that explores fear, love, doubt, and faith in a world not unlike our own.
