To ensure funds are distributed equitably between applicants, we will have an open application period each session. After the application period ends, our Financial Aid Committee will review all submitted applications and award funds based on family need. Financial Aid offers will be sent out within one week of the application deadline.

Financial Aid Application: Checklist
Use this checklist to make sure your application is complete before submitting:
☐ Enroll in the desired program(s) through Jumbula
☐ Log in or create a Jumbula account
☐ Complete all required registration fields
☐ Fully complete the Financial Aid Application section at the bottom of the form
☐ Upload W-2s for the entire household or last 3 months of pay stubs
☐ Select Pay in Full when prompted (do not choose a payment plan)
☐ Sign all required waivers and terms
☐ At checkout, select “Register with Application for Financial Aid”
☐ Click “Place Order”
Financial Aid Policies
We believe all children deserve the opportunity to engage in and thrive through the arts. Berkeley Playhouse is committed to ensuring access to our education programs for low-income students, especially from underserved and/or underrepresented communities of color, by providing financial assistance of theater education tuitions.
Our financial aid funds serve families for whom the cost of tuition would otherwise cause a barrier to their participation. Eligible students will receive between 30-70% (on a sliding scale) of tuition costs based on availability of funds.
*Please note: For families requesting financial aid, if your household earns over $80,000 annually, an explanation of extenuating circumstances is required in order to be considered. We will review and make exceptions on an individual basis. All families have the option to pay in installments by selecting a Payment Plan at checkout.

No. Financial Aid applicants do not submit payment at the time of registration.
This prevents the system from charging a deposit or automatically enrolling you in a payment plan. You will have installment options after receiving your financial aid offer.
Yes. As long as all programs are in the same order, you only need to complete the Financial Aid Application once.
Financial aid offers are sent by email after the application period has closed.
You will have one week from the date of your offer email to respond and submit payment (or the first installment).
If we don’t hear from you within one week, your spot in the program may be released.
