Peter has been part of the Berkeley Playhouse family ever since his son David fell in love with acting at the age of five during a Berkeley Playhouse summer camp session. David’s experience at Berkeley Playhouse was transformative, leading him to many Bay Area theater opportunities and a B.A. acting program at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Peter is delighted to serve on the BPH Board and make whatever contribution he can to support the miracle of theater as it unfolds every day at Berkeley Playhouse.
Peter is a partner at Rukin Hyland & Riggin LLP and an employment law mediator with Sequitur Resolutions. A Chicago native, he received his law degree from New York University School of Law and practiced at law firms in New York and Chicago before settling in the East Bay in 2000. He is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, and serves on the Board of The Social Justice Collaborative, an immigrant rights legal services organization in Berkeley. He lives in Berkeley with his wife Sharon, where they enjoy hiking the east bay hills and trails.
